Back from New Mexico...

Colette and I made it back last night (with Mimi's help) from New Mexico. We drove last Saturday and had a wonderful time in Rio Doso..... more pictures to come

Nothing like a Minnesota thunderstorm...

My first day on the farm we went from playing outside to running out to put mowers and tractors in the garage.... those of us who have left Minnesota often long for a good MN thunderstorm and I got to experience a few while I was in Windom. There is something so severe, so quick, so obvious about them and unlike Houston where showers mean MORE humidity....usually in MN a good crack of thunder brings with it a cool breeze from Canada...one so fresh and so clean you wait in expectation for the next thunderstorm to roll in.

Returning Home ....once again....

We've just now returned home from our long journey to Minnesota.... We were there for a month. A month packed with family events big and small, lazy farm days, cool nights and even some cool days. Blog posts to follow of our adventure but wanted to say.... We're BACK! And thank you to my family who made our trip so memorable!!

Dollar Store pool noodles turned into Light Sabors (?) with the help of a wooden dowel from Home Depot!
Jedi Anders and Jedi Gunnar (these two precious boys don't really know too much about the real Stars Wars). All of Gunnar's information about this life in the Galaxy has been gleaned during recess with his friends in Kindergarten. Despite NEVER seeing the movie or cartoon he knows the entire character list of the Clone Wars.....including their color light sabor and who they become later. He told me the other day "I'm actually an expert at Star Wars mom". I said quickly, under my breath, there's a lot of things I wish you were an expert it kid, but that's not one of them....
When I put every girls' hair (including mine, Amanda and Colette's) in side buns.....I stumped him. He wasn't making the Princess Leah connection! But we enjoyed it!
