Biggest Fans

One of the most enjoyable treasures of this summer was seeing my nieces and nephews play their sports! We got to see Joey play baseball (including win a game while pitching), Greta score two goals in soccer tournament and Tanyi shine at baseball. We didn't get to see Tyra play soccer although they are headed to state tournament this weekend but we did get to see her play a beautiful piano piece in church.... What a summer!

The beginning of our journey...

Chris' sister and family joined us on the farm at the beginning of the trip and we had so much fun!! The cousins loved the time on the farm and Grandpa Bob showed them every farm vehicle and gave these city kids an adventure.

Two Peas in a Pod

I can't quite describe this relationship other than to say.....if Anders was asked "Who's your hero" and he knew what that meant. He would no doubt respond....Grandpa!! He has wanted his Grandpa since he was 6 months. He is outside every chance he can get and one day spent nearly five hours between side raking and bailing hay right by grandpa's side. If only my dad could distill his years of wisdom and just plain basic knowledge of repair into Anders tiny little brain he could then pass the farm onto this grandson!

"Come Back to Texas..."

Does this picture look familiar? We stopped at our faithful Texas Travel Center on our way back into Texas this morning.. The kids and I have been gone just shy of a month. We got to have Chris for a week in MN and had great fun. WE have been making our way through all of MN eating peoples' food, sleeping in their beds and enjoying their attention for a bit of cooler summer air. We did our summer trip with some twists and turns and are sleeping in our own beds tonight. Lest you think it was a perfect family trip given the cute picture....We woke Anders up to get out for a potty stop, and after this picture he shimmied up to the top of the Texas sign and refused in high pitch squeal to come down.

I'll try to post some pictures from the trip over the next few days. Loads of fun as usual....thank you everyone!!!!!!!!
