A Peaceful Retreat...

One of the beautiful advantages of buying a home that has been lived in is both the mature landscape and the thoughtfulness of the previous owners. They raised their four children here, all of them now grown and when they were "walking the property" with us they talked with tenderness about this swing. One of their sons proposed to his bride in this sweet swing which now has been overtaken by fast swinging little ones!!!! Come visit and we'll have lemonade and a gentle swing!

Gunnar & the Fish

Indeed this want to be farm boy was too afraid to put his fish in the water!! Chris had to step up, Audra easily slid hers in and Anders put his in (hours later when he woke up from his one and only nap of the weeK!) and subsequently that fish was found belly up the next day!! We're still working out the kinks!!
Our phone number says it's been "disconnected" although it HASN"T and we have little things here and there but we're getting there!!!!!

"Calling Dr. Lindaman!"...

Oh yes..after 7 years Uncle Dana defended his disertation on blad de blah (something smart about French Literature today) and he is finished!!!!! A standing ovation from his family in Texas!!!! (including the one with the nuki that shouldn't be there!) Congratulations to Dana and Elise who have worked long and hard to make this Ph.D happen. We could not be happier for you both and proud of your efforts and accomplishments Dana.
Seriously could you both have 4 weeks off on an island by yourselves??
When I was explaining to the kids that this was the big day (they knew that this was coming) and Audra said at dinner "So he is a Dr.???" Gunnar replies...like Dr. Boardman (their pediatrian) and Audra says flatly "No Gunnar! Not that kind" I go on to explain eloquently what I think Dana is a Dr. of and finally Gunnar says with straight face..."So he's more like Dr. Seuss?"..............long pause....... "Yes Gunnar, that's a little more like it?"

Even Sweeter...

Closing Date: June 13th

Happy Mother's Day

I wish I could add a lengthy speech this year but since we've been up to our eyeballs in packing (we move this Thursday-Sunday!!) I have little but to say HAPPY MOTHER's DAY!! To my mother, my mother-in-law and all the countless mothers in my life that are friends and fellow sojourners on this journey of motherhood. I love you and celebrate you today!!

Irish Dancers?

Did you wonder where the Famous Irish Dancers have gone? Right here in Clear Lake! Audra had to wear her "costume" for pictures last night and I thought she was cute as a little lepricon! This is sans her hair ribbon and gold bows on her tap shoes. I confess....I am not a "dance mom". This being Audra's first time I walked in with the wrong colored tights (suntan! Don't they look suntan to you?), didn't know what the extra green piece of fabric was for (hair tie!) and no make-up! What my 7 year old needs make up for her picture. True to our form we were just a little off, but authentically us!

"Sale Pending"

Two of the sweetest words....
